Tentaka Karakuchi Tokubetsu Junmai Nigori 720ml
Nigorizake or Nigori is a cloudy sake. The sake is passed through a loose mesh to separate it from the mash. It is not filtered thereafter and there is rice sediment in the bottle. Shake before serving to mix the sediment.
Tasting notes – Junmai Nigori
“If it isn’t dry, it ain’t sake.” These words are from Tentaka’s founder and it is certainly true of this nigori sake. Usually a nigori will be sweet but this is unlike most in being extremely dry. The body and mouthfeel are therefore more pronounced and provide a different emphasis for the taste.
Food matching
Excellent with cheeses, perhaps a soft blue brie or a not too matured cheddar. It is a great foil to zuke style pickles. Also would match vegan desserts that are not too sweet. For the adventurous try matching with an Indian curry. You may be surprised
